Since 2001, Memphis Paranormal Investigations has been guiding you through the haunted side of Shelby County, for FREE. We remain the ONLY paranormal group in Memphis whose services are FREE. We don't sell you anything and we have nothing to gain by what we teach or share. Everything we do for our community, and beyond, is paid for by my team. This is one way we have earned credibility in the business community. One of the services we offer is to save you money and time, informing you of local paranormal frauds and scams. Or sometimes just a site that is nothing more than urban legend. We do this because we love our city.

Blackwell House:
The Blackwell House, located
in Bartlett. "Legend has it
that the wife of the original
owner, Nicholas Blackwell,
died just two nights after
moving into the house." Met
the owners, toured the house
and grounds. NOT HAUNTED.
Graceland:
I and most of my members have
been there. Have talked with
hundreds of visitors and
employees of Graceland as well. I
promise you folks... This would be
the LAST place Elvis or his family
would haunt. It was a prison for
him.
Ed Rice Community Center:
Located in Frayser. Although the
subsequent grounds are
somewhat haunted, we have never
talked with anyone who can back
up claims that the community
center is also haunted.
Singleton Community
Center: Bartlett..
We were asked to
investigate on 3
occasions. Just did NOT
feel anything other than
still and peaceful. Have
seen no proof that this
building is haunted. But
there are groups that will
charge you up to $100 to
"teach you how to become
a paranormal
investigator." So for up to
$100 it might be haunted.
NOT.
Overton
Park-"lady of the
lake ghost"
Although there
are areas of the
grounds that
might be
haunted by
murder victims,
The "ghost of
the lake" does
not exist. The
lake is 2 feet
deep. And made
of concrete.
Sears Crosstown:
Remains a spooky
building but nothing
more. No verifiable
deaths have
occurred in this
building. Several
people have been
mugged in the
parking lot, so for
that fact alone, we
suggest you stay
away at night. Police
will find you if you
break in.
Voodoo Village:
We have not only investigated,
but sat and talked with extremely
poor neighborhood residents.
No Voodoo! No ghosts! No
monsters! Just a bunch of
spoiled white teenagers who
terrorize these poor people
every year around Halloween. A
police Sargent informs us that
undercover patrols are beefed
up this week. If you are caught
by MPD, you will go to jail. Your
well to do parents will have to
get out of bed to bail you out.
And the judge will not take pity
on you for harassing elderly poor
people.
Audubon Park:
Not Haunted!
Just a silly urban
legend, spread
by a reporter at
the Commercial
Appeal years
ago. It is a lovely
place to take a
walk or play golf.
Magnolia Manor, Bolivar:
"Allegedly haunted." The bed and
breakfast openly employees a
violent repeat felon as a tour
guide. Another tour guide was
arrested last year on felony
warrants for filing a false report.
(lying to police). How credible is
evidence from a convicted
burglar/thief/forger/drug dealer? If
you employee a domestic abuser
as your "spokesperson," what are
we to think of you????
Gregg Rivers and his Mommy
(Elaine Cox) have openly hired
Derek Kifer, a multiple convicted
violent felon, to give "haunted"
tours to groups including women
and teenage girls. Why is this
disturbing? Derek Kifer is a
multiple CONVICTED wife beater.
His most recent police contact was
December of 2011, when his wife
had to file for an order of
protection against him. Elaine Cox
and her son Gregg knew of his
criminal background and did not
tell tourists of the potential risk.
How many of these parents would
have participated in a tour with
their teenage daughters, knowing
Derek Kifer's violent record?
