Shelby County Cemetery "Potter's Field" and Salem Cemetery
The saddest part of this cemetery is all of the little children and babies. There are literally thousands of children buried at potters field. For those who don't know... "potter's Field" is a universal nickname for indigent burial grounds. This cemetery houses roughly 21000 homeless, poor, and unnamed Memphians. We have, for the past several years, been investigating this place. We have had so many, too many to list, experiences of the paranormal. We have witnessed temperature drops of 40-50*F. We have witnessed a very large and very creepy "shadow ghost". We've been chased off the grounds by the same big and creepy shadow-ghost. And with our "naked" ears, we've heard a child calling for his mommy. Remember ... A ghost or spirit is someone's child, mother, father, etc... Please visit this cemetery and take them some flowers, or drop a teddy bear on one of the children's markers, or just say hello . For I was hungry, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; Naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee; or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in; or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Matthew. 25:35–40).

Salem Cemetery in Atoka is one of our "creepiest" investigations to date. Salem is a "Yellow Fever" Cemetery. This illness wiped out all of Memphis and the surrounding area twice in the late 1800's. What makes this cemetery an unpleasant resting place... 700 slaves were found in a mass grave on the property. This makes for some very angry spirits! Get the picture? Our warning, Don't visit alone!
